Cradling the Cosmos
by The Poet Benjamin
A lake
The night ripples
Why are you so playful
Smiles the moon
Charming us
To dance upon your waves
How marvelous an invitation
For stars
To pulse and phase
For the sky
To twist this way
Such warmed light
Performing nightly
Washing
And bathed
Upon your waves
Polite
And calm
Cradling the cosmos
In your arms
God Blew Bubbles
God blew body into bubbles
Glowing golden, in glycerin globes
Then polished into orbs
Which floated down from the heavens, into form
Each carried its own iridescent charm
Majestic colors changing, sparkling in light
Hinted at a beyond, in movements with design
Over many lifetimes, lived
Burst, then reformed again
In gusts given godly succession, bodies freely admitted
Inspired, earthly waves, as breathed upon birth
Buoyed upon winds, which sway, ever so gently
Cradled, rocking by invisible hands
Kissed and released through divine breath
Which, reveals, in each globe, to be reveled
Unknown, to be known
A way back, shown, in glycerin waves
Through each bubble blown
Dragonfly
I am the moon, dragonfly
Winged creature, watch
Flutter wings, alive, in the twilight
Watch me as my face delights
Let us be remade in the eyes of one
Lungs to gather in the breadth of many lifetimes
Irrespective of our size, you are my satellite
Though, together, I am yours, in flight
To pull in the gravity of our orbit
As breath breathes into moment
To bask in the night, you arrive in effulgence
We are of glowing presence, alone
Shining as the contemplating night
Two bodies bathed, reflecting in the moonlight
Fly with me dragonfly, fly!
Lend me your ascendant wings
To grace over tomorrow’s land
Together, we will transcend our sorrows
To become the sky, again
I am the moon, once you have taken me in my fullness
And you are my light, dragonfly
